Lake in the Hills is located approximately 1 mile southeast of The Palace of Auburn Hills, ( East of 1-75) on Shimmons Rd., which is located between Lapeer, Walton, and Dexter Roads.
IF COMING FROM PONTIAC:
Take N. Opdyke Rd to E. Walton Blvd. Go East on Walton Blvd to Dexter Rd. There is a light here and a 7-Eleven store on left. Go left on Dexter approximately 1/8 of a mile, passing apartment and townhouse complexes on both sides. Come up hill to Shimmons Rd ( you will see Oakland Christian School straight ahead) and go left on Shimmons Rd. Lake in the Hills entrance is a short distance down on the left.
IF COMING from Macomb County and all areas south or southeast of Pontiac:
Take M-59 to Squirrel Rd. exit. North on Squirrel Rd approximately 2 miles, passing Chrysler world headquarters in the distance on the left and the campus of Oakland University on the right. Make a Michigan left onto Walton Blvd. Right on Dexter at the 7-eleven store (the same as above for the rest of the way)
IF Coming From all points north or south off I-75: (Most tricky way)
Take Lapeer Rd, exit (EXIT 81) and immediately exit onto Lapeer Rd, south. Immediately look for small sign that reads: HAWK WOODS NATURE CENTER. This is the entrance to Bald Mountain Rd. off of Lapeer Rd. Make a sharp right off of Lapeer Rd. onto Phillips Rd. You will come to a fork in the Rd where you will make a left onto Shimmons Rd. The entrance to Lake in the Hills is approximately 500 feet down on the right. The sales office is located on the left at 29 Emerald Drive, near where you come into the community . |
